Andy Verbeck Obituary from 2/25/09: Andrew (Andy) D. Verbeck, originally of Butte, MT, passed peacefully on February 25th, 2009 after a years-long battle with cancer. He was born May 14th, 1940, the eldest son of Andrew and Blanche Verbeck, and remained in Butte until joining the U.S. Army in 1960. He served in Germany as a tank mechanic until 1962, when he was discharged with honors following an injury. Returning to Butte for a short time, he worked with his father in the Mount Con mine as a deep shaft station tender. He moved to St. Paul, MN in 1963, and was married in June 1963 to Linda Ann Bolton, also of Butte, MT. They had three children. He initially worked as an auto mechanic but following completion of his Associate degree in Architectural Design and Estimating at Dunwoody College of Technology, he worked in this new field for the next 14 years in the Twin Cities. He moved to Houston, TX where his brother Ron was living in 1981 and returned to the automotive field and held service management positions at a number of dealerships. In 2001, he moved to the Bay Area of CA where his grandchildren where then living. He married Judith Faust-Jones, a fellow Montana native, in 2005 and the couple moved to Coursegold, CA. Andy was a long-time hot rodder and loved working on and owning cars. He owned award-winning rods, custom cars, and trucks. He had an affinity for Corvettes. He is survived by his beloved and supportive wife; his son Mark Verbeck (Emerald Hills, CA) and his wife; his daughters Sandra Verbeck (New York, NY) and Teresa Verbeck (Santa Monica, CA); his Grandchildren Sarah Verbeck, Hunter Verbeck, and Nathaniel Verbeck; his siblings Ronald Verbeck (Houston, TX) and Sharon Arends (Yuma, AZ) and their families.
